What is Berth?

Berth places you in a small, permanent group of founders at your exact stage. One weekly rhythm. No calls, no strangers, no noise.

Berth is a mechanism, not a directory.

A crew, not a directory.

How does matching work?

Onboard: stage, what you're building, timezone. That's it — one thing done well.

Get placed into an existing crew of 4–6 at your stage. Geography is a soft signal, never a filter.

We'll auto-place you when a same-stage crew has a seat, or when four or more people at your stage are looking. A founder can also seat you from Admin.

What’s the weekly rhythm?

Monday, commit. Friday, report — visible to your crew. One commitment on Monday, one report on Friday.

1 wk commitment cycle. 4–6 people per group.

Are there calls?

100% async, no calls. Crew Chat sits quietly alongside for the odd question. Crew Chat is closed, crew-only — never a directory.

What happens if I go quiet?

Go quiet for a month and you're swapped out for someone actively looking. Drop to one person and your crew merges with an open seat.

[Review: landing copy says “a month”. Backend reap_inactive_members() uses 8 weeks. Pick one before launch.]

What’s the difference between Report and Support?

Report and Support sit side by side — reviewed case by case, never automated away. Reviewed by a human.

Report: submit a report about crew conduct. Casual language and profanity are not policed. Genuinely malicious conduct — including in Crew Chat — is reviewed case by case.

Support: send a bug, question, or complaint.

Can I change focus or rematch?

Change stage, what you're building, or timezone. You'll leave your current crew and we'll rematch you.

Four questions in. A crew for as long as you keep showing up.

Is this still beta?

Beta is open. Seats are small on purpose.

This site reflects our current beta. It will be finalized with legal review before Berth's full public launch.
